When I was younger, life didn’t give me the luxury of choice. Abuse and trauma filled the spaces where exploration and self-discovery should have thrived. I didn’t have the chance to ask who I wanted to be, love, or know. My personality wasn’t something I built with intention; it was a fortress, crafted for survival.
Now, with time and healing, I’m peeling back those layers. The protective shell I created kept me safe, but it also kept me from knowing myself. I’m left wondering: What do I replace it with? Who am I without it? The questions are endless, but they’re no longer frightening—they’re freeing.
Who do I want to be? What do I love to do? Where do I want to go? These are no longer rhetorical questions—they’re choices I get to make for the first time in my life. The vast, open landscape before me is both exhilarating and overwhelming.
For those of you whose lives were shaped out of your control, I see you. Your pain is valid, but so is your capacity to heal and grow. Together, we can walk this path, embracing the rediscovery of ourselves. Let’s uncover what feeds our souls and inspires our hearts. Let’s create lives of joy, intention, and love.
May peace, light, and love guide your path. Always.
